We arrived at Homestead Meadows in Appleton early in the morning where the sky was blue without a cloud in sight. The trees swayed in the breeze and all was calm. Adam was helping putting the finishing touches on the venue  while Marissa was tucked away in the “machine shed” putting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup.  I don’t think Adam’s smile left his face, he was beaming all day. Today was the day he was going to marry his best friend and start his life with the woman he loved.

Adam and Marissa met in college and with the help of some friends and the power of Facebook, began to date. They never thought this day was actually going to happen, were amazed how everything fell into place and a year prior never imagined that they’d be standing in front of family and friends exchanging their own vows.

The day unfolded perfectly. We were able to sneak away twice for their own bride and groom portraits, something that was very important to them. Marissa’s dad restored an old Ford just in time to be used to escort her to the aisle and to include in their pictures. At dinner the guests got to enjoy a good old BBQ catered by Famous Dave’s and were surrounded by some gorgeous decor that included origami cranes, a symbol of love, and navy beaded garland against the rustic barn venue. After the toasts and speeches were said and done, everyone headed upstairs to enjoy their cocktails and dance under the barn roof lit by a bright moon coming through the window and of course some DJ lights.
