I’m so excited to finally do an official “reveal” of the studio which will be home of Love, Emily Boudoir downtown Appleton! A lot of work and love went into this space and it is absolutely perfect! I got the keys on March 1st and opened the doors on April 1st. There are a few more small details to finish – curtains, the inside of the closet, and decor to fill in but it is ready to roll and in action!
POST UPDATE: It’s been a year since the studio opened in 2018 make sure to check out www.loveemilyboudoir.com to see the most recent work and updates! So excited to be offering boudoir full time at the studio this year.
The studio is located in Appleton at the Edison Center right on the river and between the locks, such a creative and booming area! I have my own “private” entrance which means that clients won’t need to go through the common space or lobby of the building to find me. The space is almost 800 square feet and divided into two rooms. When you enter you are greeted to the studio and shooting space and the back room is a lounge area used for an office and meetings. Wedding consultations will now take place in a unique, comfortable place – not a busy or noisy coffee shop. My work is displayed and there are plenty of album and print samples to browse. It’s really the perfect setup!
I snagged this place right when I saw it! I could not turn down all the natural light, the location, or the potential I saw in it. It was in ROUGH shape when we started, we literally had to touch every single inch of the place in some way. Cleaning and washing took up the majority of the work and some fresh paint did wonders to the place. After refinishing the floor in the back room and completely replacing the front floor, we were ready to go with furniture and decorating! Oh and let’s not forget about the amazing closet that, Chris, my boyfriend built to cover up the grungy utility sink and create more storage.
The studio will be used mostly for boudoir and branding sessions, mentoring and coaching sessions, wedding consults, and of course, a designated office space for me to work! I am so excited to have a place of my very own that is completely my style and unique vision!
Take a look around and of course, please visit if you are ever nearby! I would love for you to see this magical place in person!

The main shooting space! What a transformation!
Below is how the space looks in action. A recent styled shoot we did at the studio!
This wall of windows is what sold me on the place. The light that streams through here at the end of the day is MAGIC!
How gorgeous is this flower wall from The Flower Mill?!
Before and after of the hair and makeup area for sessions. There is an interior wall of windows that separates the studio space from the lounge/office area.
More details of the flower wall.
Yes, that is an oven hood on the wall. One of the tenants before me made dentures in this space and used an oven to create the molds.
An example of how the windows photograph and more of how the space looks through my lens. I can’t get enough!
This utility sink area got cleaned up and converted into a closet.
The back room! This area is where I will be hosting client meetings, consultations and viewing sessions. My computer is also set up for an office area.
Another detail – I painted that ombre wall myself! Blending paint is hard work! A medium I am definitely not used to. But the texture and background it provides for portraits is PERFECT!
What do you think?! I would LOVE if you left me a comment below and let me know that you stopped by here to take a peek! 🙂
