Saying goodbye at Erin and Ethan’s wedding was bittersweet – I left with such a full heart, but also a heavy one because these two are on their way to North Dakota to start their story together! Ethan is in the military, so for their entire relationship Erin and Ethan have been two states apart! Their day had so many amazing, personal details. All the guys wore “stars and stripes” socks (picture below!) to represent the 5 out of 8 groomsmen and ushers that are actively serving our country! How wonderful is that?! Erin’s handkerchief, which we used for some fun detail shots, was from her grandmother and her “something blue” was hidden inside her dress. Erin sewed a patch in the shape of a heart of her grandpa’s old work overalls – so sweet! However, the part at their wedding that left me in awe was at the reception when the DJ called all active military and veterans out on the dance floor – everyone gathered together, hand in hand and sang “God Bless the USA”, it gives me goosebumps just writing it out here. The dance floor was full and everyone was so proud! It was a a great moment to see everyone come together and appreciate the service these men and women have done for our country! Make sure to check out the photos from the reception below, SO many good ones! And the best surprise detail?! After a short burst of rain, a double rainbow made an appearance! It was absolutely magical and we were able to sneak in a few photos between the buildings downtown Oshkosh. The best way to kick off all the dancing and celebrating inside!
Erin and Ethan, you two are such an example of what a love story is. And not just your own story, but God’s love as well! It was such an honor to witness and capture your wedding day. You two are top notch and your commitment and dedication to each other to get to this point has been so evident and strong, even in the short time I have known you. I hope your home together in North Dakota is full of happiness, but I also hope you remember where the best Bloody Mary’s and Old Fashioneds (their signature wedding drinks) are! I hope our paths cross so, so soon!
