You may have noticed a new hashtag I coined across social media, specifically Facebook and Instagram. #ephotobrides is a way for past and current brides to see posts from not only myself, but other brides as well. The hashtag has created a community of sorts and has turned into a fun way to see what other brides are up to and to share the excitement of wedding planning and the big day. There is even a contest going on exclusively for 2015 #ephotobrides and so far it has been so much fun!
So who is the #ephotobride and what is she all about?
The #ephotobride knows the value of great wedding photography and also realizes that pretty pictures are not the main focus. She knows there is more to the day than recreating “that pose” she saw on Pinterest and more to her wedding than having every single detail in place. She knows that at the end of the aisle her love is waiting for her so that they can commit their lives to each other and start a new journey together. The #ephotobride knows the importance of quality photography and makes it a priority on the top of her wedding planning list but also knows she can relax and enjoy the day to the max because all her memories and moments are in good hands.
The #ephotobride knows her wedding day isn’t going to go exactly as planned and has made room for a lil give and take to the timeline. She knows the importance of allowing enough time to capture great shots and is aware that some of the best images will be captured when she doesn’t even realize it; the tender embrace from her husband right after the ceremony, the single tear rolling down Dad’s cheek walking down the aisle, the way Grandpa can still bust a move when the beat drops.
The #ephotobride isn’t afraid to venture into an overgrown field or hike up a few stairs in order to get to the perfect location for the bride and groom portraits. She isn’t afraid to get a lil crazy or break out a dance move to get comfortable in front of the camera. She knows how to make her groom laugh just by looking at him and knows that genuine joy and emotion will make for some of the best pictures. She’ll pull him close without hesitation and do that thing he loves. Her smile will make him smile and for a moment they will forget that their picture is even being taken.
The #ephotobride isn’t caught up in the materialism and perfection of the day. She’s caught up in the emotion. No matter how the day goes she knows that it will be perfect because in the end she is marrying her best friend.
