Stacie, Simon’s momma, contacted me soon after he arrived to have newborn pictures done. She said she wanted those lil toes and baby lips photographed before they were only a memory and last such a short time. I was hesitant at first, newborns are something I havent dabbled in much, I’m mostly on this side of the camera capturing two people madly in love and shiny new rings. After giving it some thought, I told her that I take more of a lifestyle approach to newborn photos (you won’t find me posting babies in baskets or with big flowers on their head) and that I’d be more than happy to document their new family inside their own home. You guys, I’m so happy I took this one on. I mean really, babies are not my niche, but storytelling is and documenting moments and life as it happens is. I think next to telling the story of two people in love, this is the next best story to tell through the lens. A new momma rocking her baby to sleep, a baby wrapping his tiny hand around Dad’s finger, lil wiggly toes and great big yawns. Those are the best. Thank you Stacie and DJ for letting me document the beginning of your new story and capturing the moments that happen so fast but mean the most!

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful family!
Thanks Chris! It was so fun getting invited into their home to photograph them.
These pictures are just beautiful. Beautiful captured emotions. They will hold such special memories for years and yeas.
So beautiful and so natural. I love the fact that they are not posed; it looks like we are peeking in on their happiness without them even knowing. It’s hard to believe this was your first newborn shoot. Very Nice!
